Registration is now open for the 2025 Tofurkey Trot. Register before Sept 1, 2025 to receive early bird pricing.
The event will be held on Thanksgiving morning (November 27) at the beautiful San Leandro Marina. Just like last year, the 5k will be run on a paved course for humans and mostly dirt course for our canicross runners. New this year are race shirts featuring our famous tofurkey! Register early to guarantee a shirt.
Just like all of the Animal Run race events, all profit from this year’s Tofurkey Trot will be donated to a Bay Area animal focused non-profit. Stay tuned for who it will be this year.

- WHERE: 14001 Monarch Bay Dr, San Leandro, CA 94577 (The Volleyball Sand Court is where the start/finish line will be.)
- WHEN: Thursday, November 27, 2025
- TIME: 8:45a – Canicrossers, 9:00a – Human runners and walkers.
- DISTANCES: 5k (3.1 miles) run/walk and 1 mile walk.
- COURSE: Flat and fast with mostly paved trail for runners/strollers and mostly hard packed gravel/dirt for dogs.
- PRIZES: Prizes awarded to top 3 male and female runners and canicrossers.
- FOOD & FUN: Post race vegan breakfast courtesy of Boichik Bagels.
- WHAT ELSE: T-shirts awarded to all participants (register by Nov 1 to guarantee your shirt size). Free on course photography for all participants.
About This Year’s Beneficiary
As with all Animal Run events, all proceeds will benefit a Bay Area based animal focused non-profit. We are proud to be supporting Herd & Flock animal sanctuary for this year’s Tofurkey Trot. Herd & Flock is based in Vacaville and provides animals rescued from the meat, egg and dairy industries a safe haven where they can live out their lives in peace.
